Samuel Dominique
Samuel Dominique is an online reseller based in the Netherlands. During years of collecting and refurbishing watches and cars, I started to learn more about the craftsmanship. This continued to interest me and with this passion I started Samuel Dominique in 2016.
Due to the central location of the Netherlands within Europe, I am favorably positioned for international trade. I am easily accessible by car, public transport and via the Dutch luxury airport Schiphol. The open borders within Europe also ensure easy, fast and care-free transactions.
Samuel Dominique works exclusively with the online services of Chrono24 and the Samuel Dominique webshop when selling watches. Paypal is the only available payment method on the webshop due to the buyer and seller protection. Safety and discretion are my number one priorities.
Since I started Samuel Dominique, I have been able to gather and sell the most unique watches that are available in the watch industry. Each one of them had their own story. One of my favourites is the original Heuer Monaco, as worn by Steve McQueen in ‘Le Mans’.
“The one and only Heuer Monaco 1133B, powered by Caliber 11. Iconic piece from the 70s that has a wide-spread fanbase and is of horological importance. Not only Steve McQueens favorite piece but this one scores high with every watch lover.”
Another favourite is one of the first pocket watches to be used in the automotive industry, the Marvin Tyre Watch. It is a simple descriptor, yet it has that wow effect, brings amusement and triggers curiosity.
“Following the official story on the company website, the Marvin Tyre watch was created in the 1930s by René Didisheim and represents a tribute to the family’s passion for cars.
The Marvin Tyre watch was supplied in gold, rolled gold or chrome with a black or silvered luminous dial, some even with an official chronometer rating certificate. Some models could be unfolded from inside the tyre and positioned upright, functioning as a desk clock. Customers could choose from black, white, green or blue tyres, also equipped with small clasp.”
The interest in engineering has been a red line in my personal life. Luxury watches represent the perfection in timeless engineering, but for me it all started with classic cars. Less electrical components in classic cars made them very durable and therefore sustainable like luxury watches. I have been restoring classic cars for over a decade now and since they have been such an important part of my inspiration, I decided to also add these projects to the Samuel Dominique website.
“I like old cars, old watches, anything with a vintage, antique kind of a feel to it. I’m just more in tune with that than anything else.”
