SOLD: Rolex Datejust 36mm 1601 (Box, Pie-pan / Sigma dial)

SOLD: This beautiful Rolex Datejust (reference number 1601) from 1972 (serial number 2844XXX) is still on it’s original Jubilee bracelet from 1970 (bracelet marked 1/70). All the links are present so the bracelet can be made up to full size again. The crown on the clasp and the clasp itself have not been over polished as you see often. The case itself has been polished in the past. I did not polished it again to retain it’s value. The caseback of the watch is marked with a French hallmark which indicated that the watch was originally sold in France.

The blue Pie-pan, Sigma dial and the 18K yellow gold case are a stunning combination you rarely encounter. This deep blue dial is an original Rolex dial which is identical (only not in colour) to the dial which this Rolex was originally delivered with. The original golden Pie-pan, Sigma dial is also included with the watch.

The movement is in incredible condition. It contains the caliber 1570, which has just been serviced. The service can be proven with the receipt and testing results as can be seen in the images. The pictures show the condition of the watch very well. The watch comes in an original Rolex watch box as can be seen in the images. The watch does not include the original Rolex papers.
